Mike Engel began his career as a home inspector after 33 years serving as a school social worker. Mike became interested in real estate and home inspection after building his own home, buying/selling multiple residential homes, and following a fire at his personal home that affected the entire interior of the home and roof structures. This fire was the stimulus for his desire to ensure integrity in the build/sale of residential homes. Mike’s experience with the fire was instrumental as the contractor for this job did not provide excellence in service to Mike and his family. Mike had to become a “foreman” for the job, ensuring all aspects of the build were completed professionally, timely and appropriately installed. With his determination, the reconstruction was completed to meet a high level of excellence.

Mike has been preparing to become a home inspector for many years, becoming licensed and certified in 2021. Mike has performed many inspections for more than 40 different realtors in the past year. Mike continues to stay connected with home inspectors from all over the country to continue to sharpen his skills. Mike is a well known and respected member of the O’Fallon community after serving for years as a school social worker and department chair at OTHS. In 2000, Mike created and directed the O’Fallon Kixx soccer program. This program was later enveloped by the parks and recs division of the City of O’Fallon and now has become a highly respected club soccer program, called Metro Alliance. He has built many relationships in the community through these positions as well as through participation in his local church boards, mission trips and activities.
